How to Leverage SURYA Gujarat Scheme 2021?
Staring at your energy bill and wondering how it is emptying your pockets? Well, it does not matter anymore whether you go for an energy-efficient home appliance or machinery for your business, because the volume of such devices is causing the bills to surge. So, is there a magic wand that can help you save on energy bills?
The Government of Gujarat has launched SURYA Gujarat Scheme 2021. It is an initiative that offers up to 40% of Capital Finance Assistance (CFA) to consumers that install solar systems for their homes. There are different tiers of CFAs that government offers depending on the KW capacity of the solar systems.
Let’s understand how this scheme is beneficial for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes.
SURYA Gujarat Scheme for Residential Purposes
In this endeavor to support solar energy, the Government of Gujarat has launched the “Surya” scheme. Here there is a three-tier system for CFAs or subsidy for people to promote the installation of solar systems for their homes.
- Tier1- Any residential solar system with up to 3KW capacity will get 40% of the CFA from the scheme.
- Tier2- Any residential solar system with a capacity between 3KW and 10KW will get CFASs from 40% to 20%. Here for the first 3KW, you get 40% and then 20% for anything above that.
- Tier3- Any residential solar system with up to 10KW capacity will get 40% CFA for the first 3KW and 20% for 7KW with no subsidy beyond the 10KW cap.
SURYA Gujarat Scheme for Commercial Purposes
The government scheme is also promoting commercial solar panel installations by offering 75% of current tariffs and a price range of 2.92-4.31 per unit. Apart from this if you need a surplus injection of solar energy, you can opt for extra power through MSME provisions for a price of 2.25/unit for the first five years.
Though there is a bidding process that can get complex for your business. A solar energy solution provider can help you get through all the documentation, licensing, and easy installations without any hassle.
SURYA Gujarat Scheme for Industrial Purposes
For industrial purposes, the Government has made provisions to promote installations of industrial solar panels. Apart from the lower rates of solar energy, industries opting for extra solar power capacity will have subsidized rates for a first five-year period.
The best part of this scheme is that the upper ceiling of 50% for installation of solar systems is now removed and there is no ceiling restriction now. However, if you are looking for higher energy saving you should opt for a third-party solution provider who will have the access to power at lower rates.
They can also reduce the cost of installations and help optimize the performance of the solar systems. If you are looking for such a solar energy solution for either residential, commercial, or even industrial solar panel installation, then here are the prices to be considered.
Conclusion
As we move forward the need for alternate resources of power will increase. For example, there is a high demand for electric vehicles that will primarily run on electric power. So, if you don’t plan for your energy savings now itself, you will face the huge cost of energy in the future.
